Scope: A Scalable Merged Pipeline Framework for Multi-Chip-Module NN Accelerators

We built Scope, a merged-pipeline framework that treats multiple NN layers jointly across MCM accelerators so you can escape the compute-vs-comm tradeoffs that choke scalability; with custom DSE algorithms that cut search complexity from exponential to linear we find top-tier mappings and boost ResNet-152 throughput up to 1.73x without extra energy. This is basically rethinking parallelism as a multi-layer packing problem for MCMs and it makes massive-chip stacks actually useful instead of I/O-bound.
