We surveyed ASIP approaches tailored for deep neural nets, mapping microarchitectural choices and optimization strategies to the tradeoffs between programmability and energy-efficient performance; if you care about squeezing DNN throughput into tight embedded power and area budgets without giving up flexibility, this paper lays out what’s been tried, what works, and where new ASIP ideas can actually move the needle.
